We’re publishing them as a way of showing the range of honest, thoughtful feedback this image received, not as a final verdict, but as a real conversation between photographers looking closely at the same frame.

A long exposure of water falling past a dark boulder, with bare branches crossing the foreground

โ€œIt’s a great looking image. The right amount of blur to keep some structure to the water while dding the blur – and the branches give some context to the location. It’s not just a waterfall now, it’s a waterfall in a wood – of what trees etc. I think the branch poses questions rather than distracts.โ€

โ€œGreat image but the branch is a bit distracting. But it is what it is.โ€

โ€œReally great!โ€

โ€œThis is a wonderful image. I love the long exposure and the boulder adds an anchor for the composition. I donโ€™t have any criticism but just an alternate thought about the composition. The branches and the boulder compete for the foreground attention. I would love to see two images side by side, one with the branches and one with out. I think I might prefer the simpler minimal composition without it. Itโ€™s a great image either way!โ€
